Fine drooping spikes of greenish grains at the end of long arching stalks; 10-20cm across, semi-evergreen basal leaves in a rosette. (Ontario Native Plants 2002) Found in northern hemlock hardwood forests, boreal coniferous forests, white cedar woods and dry to mesic deciduous forests. (Flora of North America)
