Interesting Tidbits
The name Ebony comes from the colour of the smooth, stiff, brittle stalk. The axis, which starts out brownish-green, soon turns to shining black. (Ferns of Grey and Bruce Counties) Found in old fields, woods and roadsides. (Read.Dig.N.A.,Trees,Nonflower.:lants)
