Interesting Tidbits
The intriguing name of this plant arouses much curiosity and expectation in the uninititated who are often disappointed to find it does not follow them out of the woods! In reality, the walking fern needs at least a year to take one step. This is accomplished when the tip of the frond produces roots, often embeeded in a lush carpet of moss.
